The performance is an improvement of the remodeling of Mediterráneo Avenue

Benidorm renews a new section of sidewalks and the hydraulic network on Europa Avenue

28 February 2020
Benidorm renueva un nuevo tramo de aceras y de la red hidráulica de la avenida Europa

Part of the work teams of the remodeling work on Avenida del Mediterráneo are executing these weeks one of the improvements obtained by the City Council in the tender for this project: the renovation of the sidewalks and the hydraulic network of Avenida de Europa. Specifically, they are acting on the section of the avenue between Lepanto and Ibiza streets.

As indicated by the Councilor for Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, “thanks to these improvements, Europa Avenue is going to be fully urbanized; that is, changing rain, sewerage, drinking water, lighting, asphalt and sidewalks; improving both the image of one of our main arteries and accessibility ”.

De Zárate recalled that "in the first phase we operate in the road area, renewing the asphalt, implanting the bicycle lane, changing all the lighting, and also replacing all the hydraulic infrastructures that run through the center of the street." Now, and as it was done in the stretch between Mediterranean and Girona, "we are working on the whole width of the sidewalk, where pedestrian crossings have been enabled and where the hydraulic network is already being renovated". Starting next week, "concrete will begin to be laid and laid."

The councillor asked the residents "patience" to "the inconvenience" that are causing these jobs, since the result is "the significant improvement of the urban scene, image and accessibility; as well as water management and quality, since we are renovating a drinking water network that was made more than 35 years ago. ”
