The government intends to carry out this action between 2021 and 2022
Benidorm plans that the streets around Cruce and l’Aigüera Avenue be configured into a road with no sidewalks to improve accessibility
The campaign ‘A pie de calle’ begins next week a round of visits to see the progress and results of the latest municipal works
The municipal technicians are already working on the drafting of a project to improve the accessibility of the streets located between El Cruce, Avenida de l'Aigüera and Calle Ondulada, as reported today to the residents of the area by the councilors of Citizen Participation and Public Space, Ana Pellicer and José Ramón González de Zárate. Both councilors, together with the vice presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario, have visited the streets included in the project; a visit that is part of the municipal campaign ‘A pie de calle’.
De Zárate explained that "this action reaches Santa Cristina, San Ramón, San Marcos and Santo Tomás streets", which will be configured as a "road and sidewalk area that remain at the same level, thus guaranteeing accessibility ”. The councillor has delved into that "currently it is an area where the sidewalks are very narrow and do not conform to the accessibility regulations", two circumstances that will be overcome with this action, with which "we give priority to pedestrians but without preventing passage of vehicles ”.
In addition, it has advanced that this project will include "the renewal of drinking water, sewerage and lighting services", as well as "the installation of pipelines for services such as natural gas or fiber optics."
The councillor has indicated that it is "an important work" that the local government expects "to be able to carry out next year or in 2022"; and has reported that in parallel to this project "the City Council is in talks with the property of the plot located next to l’Aigüera bridge to improve pedestrian accessibility in the area, connecting l' Aigüera Avenuue with Alfonso Puchades."
After transferring the details of this action to the neighbors, the Councilor for Citizen Participation has advanced that "from next week we will begin a round of visits to the neighborhoods, as always with the Neighborhood Council and the associations of the different areas, to see how the municipal works are being carried out and about which we informed the public a few weeks ago ”.
This round begins on Thursday, December 10 in Rincón de Loix, specifically at the confluence of Alcalde Manuel Catalán Avenue with the first line of Levante beach, “where we will visit the actions that are being carried out within the Improvement Project of Road Safety and Accessibility 2020 ”.
Participatory budget
Pellicer took the opportunity to recall that "from last Tuesday until December 29, the deadline for submitting proposals for inclusion in the Participatory Budget for 2021 is open." The councillor has encouraged "all residents to make their proposals"; a procedure that can be easily completed in person at the Municipal General Registry located on the ground floor of the Town Hall from 09:00 to 14:00, or by e-mail advicevecinal@benidorm.org or through the new Citizen Participation platform launched this week: https://www.civiciti.com/es/benidorm.
