'A look at the past' includes work carried out by the members of the association from 2009 to the present

Benidorm Patchwork Association exhibits its work at La Barqueta Recreational Association

14 May 2024
La Asociación de Patchwork de Benidorm expone sus trabajos en la sede de La Barqueta

It can be visited until Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Patchwork Association of Benidorm inaugurated this Tuesday the exhibition 'A look at the past', the work that the members have made since 2009 until the present. The first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the councillor of Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, visited the exhibition along with other councillors of the Municipal Corporation and congratulated the president of the association, Antonia Baldó, and the rest of the members for “having managed to bring together works so varied, so beautiful and of such a high level.”

The exhibition, 'A Look at the Past', shows quilts, cushions, bags, rugs, dolls, clothes, shopping trolleys and an endless number of garments and works already completed or in the process following the 'patchwork' technique. They use different fabrics and patterns to create colourful compositions.

Antonia Baldó explained the works in the exhibition have been made by members who are still part of the association and others who, for health reasons or other reasons, no longer actively participate in the group. Also, a collective quilt full of hearts that they began to sew during the pandemic, with scraps that each one had at home, exchanging phone calls and photographs and that they have now united into a single piece.
Likewise, there is an exhibition with small details made by hand that can be purchased at a modest price to collaborate with the Patchwork Association.

The exhibition can be visited until this Thursday, May 16, at La Barqueta Cultural and Recreational Association on Tomás Ortuño Street, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
