Amor said that "tourism is more than a socioeconomic activity". The councillor stressed the "important role of residents of a resort town to communicate visitors the positives aspects of being a tourist destination". Amor indicated that Benidorm is an example of "sustainable development and effective management between competitive urban destinations" and recalled that Benidorm has shown a great ability to adapt over the years to "new paradigms of urban tourism in regard to management, governance and operational processes. "
The councillor held a meeting with the general secretary of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Taleb Rifai.
