The park has endowments for the sports practice of singular modalities
Benidorm opens Séquia Mare Park, third green lung of the city
Benidorm City Council today has opened Séquia Mare Park, more than 62,000 square meters located next to the Valencian Community and European Community avenues and that connects the urban fabric with the sports and educational complexes of the Salt de l'Aigua. The mayor, Toni Pérez, reported that "from today this park is already fully available to the public for your enjoyment", and added that this project has been "an important investment" that has allowed "create the third largest park Benidorm, a great space for leisure in the middle of nature "that includes endowments for" the sport practice of singular modalities ".
At the time of designing the park, we have tried to respect as much as possible its natural configuration, the pre-existing trees such as the pine forest of 15,000 square meters and those with the highest environmental value. To these copies have been added 150 tipuanas and 50 jacarandas.
The park is endowed with a road of around one kilometer to circulate with a bicycle; and another for the practice of 'running' of about 1,500 meters. Both roden the green zone, like the road of walk, to which are added the paths that connect the different areas and facilities of the park to add two kilometers in length.
In addition to the 'skate park' launched two years ago, Séquia Mare also has a 'bowl', as well as toilets and spaces for park maintenance and management.
The mayor pointed out that in addition to the sports and leisure component, the park allows to make known the historical and natural heritage of Benidorm, since it is located next to the section "recovered and put in value of the Séquia Mare", key infrastructure for the supply of the city until the mid-50s of the last century.
