The City Council has assigned two houses to the Generalitat for this purpose

Benidorm City Council has opened a registry for individuals who want to make their homes available to refugees from Ukraine. As explained by the mayor, Toni Pérez, "given the offer already expressed by residents of Benidorm to provide a housing solution for refugees who arrive in Spain fleeing the Russian invasion, it has been decided to enable this registry to be more agile and to be able to respond to this possible demand for housing”.

Toni Pérez has indicated that "the City Council has assigned two social homes available to the Generalitat to accommodate refugees", and has detailed that "in the registry that has been enabled, both individuals who want to offer an empty home of their property can be registered for this end, as people who want to share their homes”.

The mayor recalled that "in case of need, these homes would be made available to women who, together with their children, are leaving Ukraine", since minors who arrive in Valencian territory without their parents or guardians will remain under the tutelage of the Generalitat.

Toni Pérez has conveyed that "we do not know the scope of the possible arrival of refugees and the time that this situation can last, but the City Council, in addition to providing direct help to those affected, we are trying to channel and order the solidarity movement that is producing in Benidorm, first with the collection of first aid medical supplies and now providing the population homes to those who are fleeing the war in Ukraine”.

People interested in offering their homes for the reception of refugees can go in the morning to the Department of Social Welfare, located in Plaza Pintor Lozano. In addition, they also have at their disposal the RAC (Collective Help Network) telephone number: 900 701 322.
