The proposals will be analyzed by value commissions formed by municipal technicians and external professionals

Benidorm abre el proceso para que la ciudadanía proponga posibles Bienes de Relevancia Local

Benidorm City Council will open next Monday, April 23, a process of participation for citizens to move proposals of assets for possible designation as Assets of Local Relevance.

The councilor of Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, indicated that "until July 15 we will collect all the proposals that reach us and that will be studied later by valuation committees, which will determine whether the proposed asset has the entity to be considered as a Site of Local Relevance and if, therefore, the City Council should request such recognition from the Ministry of Education, Research, Culture and Sports ".

Pellicer explained that "the proposals must be submitted by registration to the Department of Historical Heritage, whose technicians distinguish between tangible and intangible."

Once the deadline for submitting proposals has expired, "valuation commissions will be set up, in which municipal technicians and experts and external professionals will study each of the proposals and the importance that the proposed assets have for our city." After the technical screening, the plenary session must vote on the proposals, and immediately the pertinent procedures will be initiated before the Regional Ministry to request its designation as Locally Relevant Property.

Pellicer recalled that in this way "we fulfilled what was agreed in the February plenary session when, following a proposal by the Compromís-Los Verdes group amended by the PP municipal group, the corporation approved to open a process of citizen participation through which the company civil will send us their proposals to, if necessary, process all requests jointly and not detract or prioritize any good over another. "

The councillor clarified that when studying the proposals "we will address what the Valencian legislation on Cultural Heritage, and especially Decree 62/2011 that regulates the declaration procedure and the regime of protection of locally relevant assets. " He also stressed that "in case of any doubt about the type of tangible or intangible elements or goods susceptible to be recognized with this qualification, citizens can go to the Department of Historical Heritage or consult the legislation on the municipal website, where the next few days we will enable a specific section on this process that we are now starting ".
