Benidorm opens a new children's zip line and outdoor sport activities oriented to elder population in Elche Park

03 April 2023
Parque de Elche en Benidorm

Benidorm City Council will put into operation throughout this week a new children's zip line in Elche Park, a game element in high demand by children and parents who frequent the venue. A new zip line that will be complemented by the expansion of new bio-healthy elements for the elderly in the park itself.

The zip line is made of wood and is 20 meters long with perimeter fencing and a manufacturer's certificate of compliance with the UNE EN 1176-16630 standard on durability, flammability, toxicity, and the possibility of recycling at the end of its useful life.

The zip line comes to complete other game elements already installed in the playground. The Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate, has identified that the placement of this new element "obeys the demand of parents as a star element in playgrounds, which is very successful among small users."

In addition, the machines for outdoor sports activities oriented to the elder population has been increased, specifically bicycles, for use by the group of older people in the park itself, since a great demand for these devices had been detected. The number of them has been increased until the area is completed and keeping the corresponding safety distances between each of the elements.
