Conselleria prepares the works inside the green area, which will be delivered by the middle of the month
The new road parallel to Foietes avenue opens on Monday and will shortly give access to health centers
Benidorm City Council will open between this afternoon and on Saturday morning a large part Foietes Park, as announced today the Councilman of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate. The part that the Conselleria of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory has ceded in advance corresponds to the enclosure designed for the new vial that surrounds the green zone in parallel to Foietes avenue and the more than 300 parking spaces that are distributed in this new street.
In total, 70% of Foietes Park will be installed, including around 4 kilometers of bike lane and running track and the entire wooded section that forms the upper part of the green space.
De Zárate has clarified that the new vial of more than a kilometer that has been created with the work and that connects Mercasa with the residence of the Third Age and the avenue Ricardo Bayonne "will open to the traffic on Monday", because "technicians recommend do not introduce changes in circulation at weekends. "
The councillor has advanced that in the coming weeks changes in the traffic configuration of the area will be intoduced, so that Venezuela avenue will have a single direction of circulation - exit - and this new road will be the one that gives access to the residence of the elderly, health centers and Ausiás March school.
With regard to the fenced enclosure of the park, which has not been ceded yet and where children's playgrounds and various recreational areas are concentrated, De Zárate explained that in principle it is planned that the Department will deliver this last part "in the middle of July". Nevertheless, he has qualified that it is most likely that "we will not receive gardening, since it is being delayed", so that Conselleria will continue to be in charge of the maintenance of it for some time.
The head of Works has reported that this fenced enclosure will operate "in a similar way in l'Aigüera Park", which "closes at night" and in which "there are some restricted uses." Thus, he has already advanced that dogs will not be allowed in this part of the park, but in the rest of the open enclosure.
Finally, the council has asked citizens to "care for and maintain" this new large green space.
