The mayor and the councilor of the area collect the distinctions granted by the ICTE from the hands of the Minister of Tourism
Benidorm obtains for its beaches, one more year, 'Q' flags for Tourist Quality and adds the Safe Tourism Certified
The beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas have once again achieved the 'Q' flag for Tourist Quality, with which the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, through the Secretary of State for Tourism, recognizes the firm commitment of Municipalities for the application of quality management standards in this case applied to the beaches. The 'Q' Flag for Tourist Quality is a distinction that ICTE, the Institute for Tourist Quality in Spain, awards every year to beaches that border on excellence. The emblem recognizes the improvement of the services provided on the beaches, which represents an added value to the tourist offer.
Likewise, the three beaches have received a second flag with the Safe Tourism Certified distinction, a seal that certifies the implementation of health risk prevention systems against Covid.19, as a guarantee mark and banner of the Safe Tourism concept .
The mayor, Toni Pérez, accompanied by the Beaches Councilor, Mónica Gómez, has collected this award today in Madrid from the Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto, in an ICTE organized event in which the 'Safe certificates have also been delivered Tourism 'to beaches and facilities establishments of different tourist branches.
Pérez has pointed out that the new 'Q' flags for Tourist Quality and Safe Tourism Certified “come to endorse once again Benidorm's commitment to the quality of the services available to its beaches, as well as, very especially, the daily work in their management and security protocols ”. The mayor recalled that these new distinctions "are added to the Blue and Qualitur flags that are already flying in Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas."
Benidorm's beaches have been managed in a modular way and attending to the situation and needs of each moment. Pérez highlighted "the great effort of the City Council to renew the distinction this year" working all this time so that they offer "security and an enviable appearance".
In this sense, the mayor pointed out "the very wide level of occupation and satisfaction" that the sandbanks that today receive this distinction are registering, influencing the work "of the entire town hall, especially the Beach Department, dimensioning cleaning services to the maximum , safety and attention to people ”.
The objective has always been, said the mayor, "to offer safe beaches, for everyone and every day under the premises of" excellence and maximum quality ", finally showing their satisfaction" because very soon the flags will be flying on the beaches of Benidorm " .
The cleanliness of the water and sand on the beach, the hygienic conditions, the physical and sanitary security protocols, the facilities, the security and first aid services, the leisure offer that accompanies them and the information offered determine the degree of excellence and the achievement of the award.
