City Council and Associació de Penyes sign their collaboration for 33,000 euros that will be used for the organization of the Carnival, Mona Day and the Clubs Camping
Benidorm lives the hours before the Carnival, which will be celebrated from the 10th to the 13th of this month
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the president of the Penyes Association 'Verge del Sofratge', Jaume Cortés, yesterday signed a new collaboration agreement by which the festive group, the largest in the city, will receive 33,000 euros from public coffers. The event was also attended by the Fiestas Councilor, Mariló Cebreros.
With this agreement, the City Council recognizes the important work carried out by the members of the Clubs in the organization of Benidorm Carnival that will take place from the 10th to the 13th of this month, with its two parades (children's and adults), the party and the subsequent Burial of the Sardine.
Likewise, the agreement extends the collaboration between the City Council and the Associació de Penyes to the organization of two of the most significant events of the festive year in Benidorm: the celebration of Dia de la Mona and the traditional Acampada de Penyes.
As for the Carnival, the children's parade will take place on Saturday morning. Participants will gather at 10 a.m. on Escuelas Street to begin the march half an hour later. The arrival will be at Plaza del Ayuntamiento and later the awards will be presented.
In the afternoon, at 8:30 p.m., there will be the adult parade, which will begin at 9 p.m. from Venus Street and will also end at Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Once the parade is over, the traditional festival will be held in the tent and during it, the awards ceremony will take place.
On Tuesday the 13th at 9:30 p.m. the Burial of the Sardine will begin, an event that will begin at Plaza Mayor and will tour Tomás Ortuño, Limones, Ruzafa, Paseo de la Carretera and Paseo de Colón streets, where the sardine will be burned.
To conclude, a snack will be held at Casa del Fester.
