Mayor Toni Pérez announces that the City Council will once again provide three €10 shopping vouchers for residents to redeem at participating businesses to boost the local economy.

The City Council will invest over €2 million in the new #BenidormTeDaMás campaign, including municipal funding and an €807,000 grant from the Provincial Council.

Benidorm City Council will launch a new #BenidormTeDaMás shopping voucher campaign next December, once again with a universal approach, reaching almost 75,000 registered residents over 18 years as of December 31 this year. The city’s Mayor, Toni Pérez, announced this new edition on Thursday. It will be the seventh edition since 2020 and, as in previous years, will run from December 15 to 31, coinciding with the Christmas period, with the aim of “boosting and encouraging shopping at local businesses.”

According to the Mayor, Benidorm City Council will invest more than €2 million in municipal funds to finance the campaign, with just over €800,000 coming from the Provincial Council of Alicante. The forecast is once again to “achieve a direct impact on the city’s business sector of more than €4 million.” In other words, for every euro invested by the municipality, approximately twice that amount is expected to be spent, as has already happened in previous editions. “We know that this is a programme with a very positive impact on families and, above all, on our economic and business community. That is why, once again, we are continuing to support it as part of the commitment of this Partido Popular (People’s Party) local government team,” the Mayor stated.

Pérez explained that this edition “will maintain the same spirit and the same distinctive feature as before: it will be universal for every person over the age of 18 registered as a resident in the city,” reaching 74,573 beneficiaries. Each resident will therefore be able to download up to three vouchers worth €10 each, which can be redeemed at participating establishments for purchases that amount to at least double the value of the voucher. The vouchers will once again be available through a mobile application, meaning “there will be no need to queue, they will not run out before everyone has access, and citizens will not have to pay upfront for the vouchers. This is precisely what sets our campaign apart from those of other municipalities that have replicated it: its universal nature,” he stressed.

During the presentation of this new edition to the media, Toni Pérez recalled that Benidorm City Council launched the #BenidormTeDaMás consumer voucher scheme during the Covid-19 pandemic, with an initial card-based campaign that provided direct financial support to 3,000 Benidorm families during Christmas 2020. One year later, these grants evolved into the consumer voucher programme as it exists today, becoming a universal scheme available to all registered Benidorm residents over 18. This model will reach its seventh edition this year.

“Although the circumstances have changed considerably compared with those we faced when these grants were first launched, we know that this is a very beneficial initiative for our residents and our businesses,” the Mayor highlighted.

Nearly 4,000 More Beneficiaries
The Mayor pointed out that, as is a distinctive feature of Benidorm, the consumer voucher campaign will have a dual source of funding: on the one hand, funding from the Provincial Council through the line of grants recently announced for the 141 municipalities in the province of Alicante, amounting to €25 million, of which Benidorm will receive €807,244 for this campaign; and on the other hand, municipal funding to cover the remaining amount and “guarantee that all registered residents over the age of 18 as of December 31 can download and use their vouchers straightforwardly and directly, unlike what happens in many other municipalities.”

Likewise, although the exact figure will be finalised on September 30, the campaign will reach around 74,573 potential beneficiaries, compared with the 70,929 residents who were eligible in 2025, representing almost 4,000 more Benidorm residents in just one year. “We are a city whose population continues to grow; we have more and more registered residents thanks to the quality of life and services that Benidorm offers,” Pérez said. He also highlighted the positive labour market indicators as another contributing factor: “Month after month, we are reducing our unemployment rate and increasing the number of people who contribute to sustaining the public system through their Social Security contributions.”

In this regard, the Mayor described the initiative as “one of the best social policies”, adding that “through campaigns such as the #BenidormTeDaMás consumer voucher scheme, we help support and strengthen the business community and, through it, these public and social policies.”

From this point onwards, and once the Provincial Council’s allocation of funds to each municipality has been approved, the City Council “will begin the process of joining this provincial programme and putting in place the remaining municipal mechanisms needed to make this seventh edition possible.”
