Benidorm joins the commemoration of the World Red Cross Day
The city of Benidorm today joins the commemoration of the World Day of the Red Cross, whose central act at the national level is planned this morning in Valencia and which will be chaired by Queen Letizia. On the occasion of this anniversary, the ornamental lighting of three emblematic points of the city such as El Castell, El Tossal de la Cala and the facade of the Town Hall will shine today in the red colour that identifies the entity.
The Councilor for the Presidency, Ana Pellicer, recalled that "the Red Cross is one of the charitable and assistance organizations with the longest history in Benidorm", and has stressed that "the collaboration between the City Council and the Local Assembly is close and constant, intensifying even more so in especially difficult times such as those experienced during the pandemic to ensure the necessary care for the most vulnerable population.” A collaboration that year after year is embodied in an agreement and that translates into a nominative grant of 280,000 euros.
