Benidorm installs charging points for electric vehicles in the vicinity of three health centers
The city already has seven recharging points
Benidorm City Council will install three charging points for electric vehicles in the surroundings of the health centers of Rincón de Loix, Tomás Ortuño and La Cala, according to the mayor, Toni Pérez, who has indicated that the Department of Health directed by Ana Pellicer will take on this action, which involves an investment of 30,413.63 euros and that "in addition to the acquisition of recharging points, it also includes the necessary complementary works for its implementation and start-up".
The mayor recalled that "the Ministry of Health, through the Management of the Department of Health of Marina Baixa, asked the City Council to implement a recharging point in the vicinity of Rincón de Loix clinic, located on Juan Fuster Zaragoza Avenue, to be able to load the electric vehicles placed at the disposal of the toilets that provide the urgent home care service ". Subsequently, at the end of August, the plenary approved the installation of points in this center and also in Tomás Ortuño, La Cala and Foietes, as well as outside these sanitary hours these recharging points could be used by the rest of users of electric vehicles.
"In fulfillment of that request of the Conselleria and the subsequent plenary agreement - the mayor detailed -, the technicians have decided that these recharging points are located in front of Rincón de Loix health center; in the section between Venus and Ondulada streets to give service to Tomás Ortuño's outpatient clinic -of which it is 75 meters away-; and in the public car park of Benisa Street, in front of the CdT located a hundred meters from the health center of La Cala ".
Pérez indicated that "currently Benidorm has already four charging points for electric vehicles in L'Aigüera avenues - opposite the City Council -, Jaime I, Alfonso Puchades and Mediterráneo. "In a very short time," said the mayor, "Benidorm has created and implemented seven recharging points, thus giving the first steps of a project that we have completed to extend these points to other enclaves in the city, based on the increase in electric vehicles. ", and that will be implemented preferably" close to residential areas or public facilities to make this recharging service more convenient and accessible ".
