Avanza Group plans to introduce more coaches of these characteristics, which reduces CO2 and noise emissions
Benidorm incorporates the first hybrid vehicle to the urban bus fleet
Benidorm's urban bus fleet already has a hybrid vehicle, to which progressively will be added "many", according to Mobility Councilor José Ramón González de Zárate, and the director of the Avanza Group in the Levante area. Luis González This hybrid vehicle contributes to "sustainable mobility" since it reduces "consumption" and "emissions of substances" - mainly CO2 - and also "noise".
De Zárate has reaffirmed the City Council's firm commitment to sustainable mobility, and recalled that in the latest contracts tendered by the local administration, concessionaires have been required to renew their fleets with sustainability criteria. In this way, "practically 100% of the vehicles" of water concessionaires or parks and gardens are "hybrid or even totally electric".
Specifically, this hybrid technology "reduces the conventional diesel engine to a minimum necessary to charge the batteries", so "the vehicle moves through monitoring and transmission all electric", as detailed by the head of Avanza.
The mayor has stressed that this municipal commitment makes Benidorm "a benchmark in sustainability, energy savings and sustainable mobility", and thanked "the effort" of the concessionaires to meet the demands of the City.
For its part, the director of Grupo Avanza have indicated that the forecast is that in a prudential time "the majority of the fleet" of urban public buses in Benidorm "is hybrid and even totally electric".
