Benidorm improves pedestrian accessibility on Murcia street
The Department of Urban Scene of the City Council has started a series of works on public roads to improve pedestrian accessibility on Murcia Street, in the section between Gerona and Ibiza streets. Specifically, sidewalks have been lowered to eliminate existing architectural barriers at those points.
This is an action that will be carried out throughout the Rincón de Loix neighborhood, according to the Councilor for Mobility and Urban Scene, Francis Muñoz, "in our effort to achieve universal accessibility and improve mobility of people".
This solution will be a step before the investment planned to implement the single platform on some roads that cross Murcia streets such as Gerona or Lepanto. "We have the firm intention of continuing to make progress in full accessibility," said Muñoz.
This improvement in accessibility in Murcia street is complemented by another action that is being carried out, such as the implementation of new lampposts with 35 LED technology light points that will improve lighting in a busy area that had dark spots due to to the lushness of the vegetation and the fact that the old lampposts were located away from the pedestrian crossings.
