Benidorm improves the accessibility of 8 municipal buildings with the installation of automatic doors
Benidorm City Council has improved the accessibility of eight municipal buildings mainly through the installation of automatic doors; an action that has involved an investment of about 48,500 euros and that is included in the Improvement of Accessibility and Sustainability project, which reaches 2 million euros and is 50% funded by the local administration and the Provincial Council of Alicante.
The mayor, Toni Pérez, has reported that automatic doors have already been installed in the administrative extension of Els Tolls, in José Llorca Linares social center, in the administrative extension of Rincon de Loix, in the Casa del Fester ' Diego Cano Enguera ', in Jelena social center, and in the facilities of the Department of Social Welfare at Plaza Pintor Lozano. It is also planned to be installed in the administrative extension of Beniardá today; and that next week the same thing will be done in the Boca Calvari Museum, where in addition to automatic doors a blind will be placed.
Pérez has pointed out that “it is a small project, but that greatly facilitates the life of people of Benidorm and visitors”, by generating “accessibility for transits and access to municipal buildings that provide basic services, mainly of a social nature, and that both receive a large number of users daily. ”
The mayor has clarified that this measure will be extended progressively to the rest of municipal buildings that are not 100% accessible yet. "We want an accessible Benidorm" and that "is the north of our political action," he stressed.
In addition to the installation of automatic doors, the performance also includes "maintenance" of them "for 24 months".
