Coinciding with the World Water Day, Benidorm hosts tomorrow Friday, March 22, at 11.00 in the Assembly Hall of the City Council, the presentation of the book 'Canal Bajo del Algar. Columna vertebral de la Marina Baixa ', work of the professors of the University of Alicante (UA) Antonio Gil Olcina and Antonio Rico Amorós.
Throughout ten chapters, the authors analyze the orographic, pluviometric and hydrographic context of the region; the origins of the canal and the ordinances that govern it; the main milestones of this infrastructure; the projects put in place in each period; and the importance of the Canal in the configuration of the water management model of a region that is now eminently touristy.
With this work both authors continue delving into the study of the history and water configuration of the region. A study they started with 'Séquia Mare. Riego Mayor de Alfaz del Pi y Benidorm (1666-2016) ', also presented in Benidorm at the beginning of February.
