Benidorm to host a polling station for Bulgaria’s Elections this Sunday
The polling station will be located in the Researchers’ Room at Benidorm Town Hall and will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Benidorm will host a polling station this Sunday, 25 October, for Bulgaria’s presidential and vice-presidential elections. The polling station will be set up in the Researchers’ Room on the ground floor of Benidorm Town Hall, at Plaza SSMM Reyes de España (west entrance), and will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Jaime Jesús Pérez, Councillor for Foreign Residents, explained that “we are using the same polling station that was in operation during Bulgaria’s National Assembly elections last April, meaning that voters will already be familiar with the location”.
According to figures provided by the Bulgarian Consulate, with which Benidorm City Council has worked on nine previous elections, Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE) lists 657 Bulgarian nationals registered as residents in Benidorm. This figure rises to 8,331 across Alicante province, with most concentrated in the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa areas. In addition to Benidorm, polling stations will also be available in Alicante, La Vila Joiosa, l’Alfàs del Pi and Torrevieja.
A second round of the presidential election is considered very likely to take place on 1 November.
