The government will also propose in this session to extend the management of the treatment plant and the end of the works on Poniente walkway and the low emissions zone on Armada Española Avenue
Benidorm holds an special plenary session on Monday to approve the new specifications contract for cleaning and waste collection
Benidorm City Council will hold a special plenary session next Monday, December 18, in which, among other issues, the approval of the conditions of the new contract for street cleaning and urban solid waste collection will be addressed. The mayor, Toni Pérez, has already called this special session, once the period of public presentation of the update of the service's cost has ended and all the technical reports in this regard have been collected.
Remember that in the absence of a common technical criterion regarding the need or not to submit this document to public information, the Mayor's Office chose to comply with this procedure to provide maximum transparency and guarantee for all those interested in the procedure.
As Toni Pérez already indicated last October, with this decision “the trend that has been followed throughout the entire processing of this new contract is maintained: sending the file to all the necessary instances and organizations to guarantee the suitability of every one of the specifications contemplated in the document, as well as to solve any possible technical discrepancies that may have arisen, always acting with light and stenographers.”
The future contract for the urban solid waste collection and street cleaning service will have a bidding price of 328 million euros for an award period of fifteen years.
In Monday's plenary session, the extension of the maintenance contract for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the pumping stations will also be voted on, based on what is established in the specifications; as well as the reorganization of a loan arranged months ago. Specifically, with this reorganization, which does not affect the total amount agreed upon, the work to replace the Poniente walkway and the low emissions zone on Armada Española Avenue will be settled.
