The Local Government Board approves the Municipal Cooperation Grants, which will reach a total of 20 schools, institutes, and adult education centers
Benidorm grants 155,000 euros for social, educational, and maintenance initiatives in the city's educational centers

The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council has approved a new round of Municipal Cooperation Grants for Educational Centers, a direct grant worth €155,000 that will fund educational, social, and facility maintenance and improvement initiatives at publicly funded schools in the city. The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, emphasized that with these grants, "which bear the 100% Benidorm seal, year after year, we contribute to reducing the costs that these initiatives may entail for the twenty local educational centres that teach the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, and Adult Education." She also announced that these amounts are expected to be "paid over the next few days."
Specifically, the Municipal Cooperation Loans will reach the 13 public schools, the state-subsidized school, the five secondary schools, and the Adult Education Center, which "together have an enrollment of nearly 11,000 students," Moreno noted.
Among the activities financed through these grants are "the educational and cultural activities carried out by each school, such as group educational outings, extracurricular training activities, and school exchanges; and also projects focused on addressing the socioeconomic needs of families within the school environment, such as individual lunch subsidies or school outings."
Also included are "the costs of maintaining the facilities and transporting students to the Children's Traffic Park, where the Local Police teach the youngest students basic traffic rules, road signs, and the different types of vehicles."
The Education Minister explained that "these funds are distributed equitably, taking into account criteria such as the student population of each school and the sociocultural work they carry out for the benefit of the community." She also emphasized that "each school decides which activities, projects, or improvements to allocate the allocated resources."
Moreno emphasized that "with these Cooperation Grants, the City Council supports local education, the schools, and, by extension, the families." With these funds, which are unparalleled in any other municipality, "we contribute to developing activities that complement students' school curricula, improve the facilities and infrastructure of the schools, and also help families in need."
Finally, the councillor noted that, in addition to this €155,000 investment in Cooperation Credits, the City Council also makes various investments each academic year to maintain and improve educational facilities and infrastructure.
