The regional body owes the association more than more than 75,000 euros of the 2017 grant
Benidorm gives in advance part of the 2018 grant to Doble Amor to alleviate its situation before Servef defaults
So far this year the City Council has advanced 80,000 euros
The Local Government Board today has approved the payment of 40,000 euros to the Doble Amor Association in anticipation of the 2018 grant to alleviate its economic situation arising from the Servef defaults, which owes the entity just over 75,459.86 euros
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca, explained that "as the association moves us, the amount owed by the regional body corresponds to part of the grant awarded to the laundry for the year 2017, just over 75,000 euros that are still pending payment despite the fact that the second quarter of 2018 has already started. " These defaults have caused "serious economic difficulties" to Doble Amor, "not being able to deal with VAT, Income Tax and Social Security of the first quarter of 2018".
Llorca indicated that "the economic deficit that Doble Amor suffers due to the delay in the payment of the subsidies of the organizations that partially finance the entity could lead to an anomalous functioning of the programs that it develops and that is precisely what we want to avoid from the City Council, helping the association with these advances. "
In this regard, the councillor clarified that the Local Government Board approved on January 22 another advance, also amounting to 40,000 euros, so the City Council has advanced to Doble Amor so far this year 80,000 euros, half of the annual subsidy.
However, Llorca stressed that "the advances approved by the City Council are not a definitive solution, especially when at this time of the year the Servef not only has not satisfied the 2017 grant but has not convened the 2018 one". Added to this situation "the fact that the Generalitat has changed the rules of the game this year, substituting the subsidy to the occupational center for a concert which, according to what we are told from Doble Amor, is going to take three months to be solved "
The head of Social Welfare has demanded the Generalitat Valenciana "to keep up with Doble Amor and fulfill its obligations, thus ensuring the continuity and operation of programs and services so fundamental that it provides to more than fifty students , to which are added the 35 that currently work in the laundry. "
