The Regional Government accepts the request of the City Hall to open the road linking Colonia Madrid district with Foietes and a walkway between Mercasa parking and the Health Center
Benidorm City Hall and Generalitat Valenciana have agreed to start early service of some of those projected roads in Foietes Park, as announced by the councillor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate. Yesterday both administrations and the project leaders signed the Partial Test Act, in which it is found that the part where these roads are located "is sufficiently completed" and can enter into service. Zárate reported that the two parking areas located in Mercasa are now open, and specified that the pedestrian road which links Mercasa parking and Foietes Health Center is open as well . Initially one of the vials was not in the project, and was created at the request of the City Hall, because according to "Mobility department it is key for the city and the two neighborhoods." The councilman stressed that with this early commissioning service "not only more than 600 parking spaces are unblocked, but it has been achieved something fundamental, uniting the city and decongest traffic in both neighborhoods." De Zárate indicated that the Regional Government has agreed to modify the project -designed over 7 years ago. At this point, he clarified that "there is no economic alteration, but in works", which concerns matters such as roads or gardening and does not increase the cost of the project. In addition to the lane now opened to traffic, Benidorm proposes changes like the creation of four roundabouts, the implementation of a bike lane or replacement of vegetation provided by another that has a lower maintenance cost. In the area now opened, everything is ready like vertical and horizontal signaling; sidewalks, handrails and stairs; It is already implanted the bike lane; and the stormwater infrastructure, sanitation, drinking water and public lighting. Therefore, the installation of furniture and gardening, is the only thing pending. The councilman stated that this anticipated opening is a "sign of a job well done and collaboration between local and regional government".

Zárate recalled that for several days high parking area of the park is open, while yesterday the lower part was opened after finishing Mercasa the painting works for market stalls, that on the occasion of the Major Patron Saint Festivities is moved to this place on Wednesday, November 9th.
