Benidorm fixes the defects detected in the commercial improvement work of Los Almendros avenue
Benidorm City Council has urged the company that executed the commercial improvement works of Los Almendros avenue to fix the damage detected in the stretch between Limones Street and the confluence of Paseo de la Carretera and that mainly affects the tree grates. The councilman of Urban Scene, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that these arrangements "are at zero cost to the City Council, since the work is still in the warranty period and, therefore, the work is the responsibility of the winning company of the contract".
De Zárate pointed out that "prior to the opposition's complaint we had detected everything that was deteriorated, but we waited at the end of the summer" for not acting on the avenue during high season, although, "we are not going to hinder traffic or prevent transit to pedestrians. " The arrangements are expected to be completed this week.
As detailed by the councillor, "the rubber protection of all the trees are going to be changed" of the indicated section and "replace two trees that have dried." In this regard, he stressed that only two copies of the nearly one hundred that were planted in the street are dried.
The councilman of Urban Scene has remembered that the commercial improvement of Almendros avenue "was a work that was realized last year, subsidized by the Government of Spain" through the Chambers of Commerce, and "focused to improve the accessibility "of the avenue and" to make it more comfortable and attractive for pedestrians ".
