The Neighborhood Council, meeting today in ordinary session, confirms that the vast majority of the actions have already been completed
Benidorm executes 100% of the proposals included in the 2022 participatory budget
Benidorm City Council has executed practically 100% of the proposals included in the 2022 participatory budgets, as revealed today during the regular session of the Neighborhood Council. In fact, according to what mayor Toni Pérez specified, all the proposals have been carried out except for the creation of a children's playground on Marina Alta street, which is currently in the award phase, so it will also be finished shortly.
Thus, Pérez cited, among other interventions, the change or repair of lampposts with a corroded base or risk of detachment, "for which we have already invested more than five million euros with the change of lampposts, which has been done largely from the city". He also alluded to the old booth for road workers in Emilio Ortuño, ceded by the Ministry for neighborhood use, "which only needs to be provided with energy because there is a delay from the Ministry."
Another of the fulfilled proposals has been to be able to read and vote on the internet on the proposals of the citizens which had the purpose of increasing participation in participatory budgets. In this sense, the promotion, from schools and institutes, of the participation of the young population in participatory budgets has also been complied with. "We have managed to get them to participate and we have received several proposals from this sector of the population," said the mayor.
Regarding the planting of trees in empty ponds, he also specified that "in all of last year we planted more than 1,200 trees in the municipal area, which far exceeds the number of empty ponds." At that point, the mayor encouraged the residents "if they see a tree that needs intervention, let us know so we can act." Likewise, trees have been placed in the upper part of Avenida 9 d'Octubre "after the neighbors specified the place where they considered the most necessary."
Other proposals carried out are the lighting of a multi-sport and petanque track on Benissa street, the placement of bollards, the repair or replacement of slides or furniture in the city parks, the swimming lane on Levante beach or the creation of a children's playground on Vicente Pérez Devesa avenue and another, which is in the award phase, on Marina Alta street. Likewise, the construction of a sidewalk on Vilaljoyosa avenue in the section between Marina Baixa and Benissa and between Murtal street and Montbenidorm avenue has also been accounted for.
On the other hand, at the Council meeting other proposals were addressed, among which it was agreed that the Citizenship Participation commission has a technical nature after the pertinent specific modification of the Council's Internal Regime regulations. In addition, the proposal of a counselor was approved so that the collection of pruning and gardening remains is contemplated in the new specifications of the contract for Street Cleaning and Collection of Solid Urban Waste.
Toni Pérez welcomed the Council's position, although he clarified that this aspect "is already included in the new specifications that are in the bidding phase."
In the session, the new board of directors of the Avana association was also reported, as well as the appointment of the spokesperson for the Council, which went to Cristian Corraini, and the members of the mixed commissions were appointed.
