24 hours before the start of the first major tourist fair of the year, Fitur, Benidorm has already displayed intense activity in Madrid this Tuesday. After accompanying the tour operator Jet2 on its 20th anniversary yesterday, the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the manager of Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao, shared a meeting this morning with Vodafone managers to continue exploring innovation synergies for the DTI. This meeting, at the Vodafone LAB facilities and organized by Pablo Soto, Vodafone Innovation Manager, Daniel Jiménez, general manager; the marketing director, Alberto del Sol; and Lara Galian, head of the company's AAPP in the Levante area.

The mayor has pointed out that "as the first certified DTI in the world, Benidorm is a benchmark in the application of new technological solutions to improve the management of the destination and in that strategy and demand for constant improvement it is important to know the tools and proposals that are being developed by the companies in terms of innovation and outline possible ways of collaboration”.

After the meeting with the people in charge of Vodafone, Toni Pérez participated in the executive meeting of the Alliance of Tourist Municipalities of Sun and Beach (AMT), of which the eight most important Spanish destinations in this tourist segment are part: Benidorm, Arona, Adeje, Calvià, Lloret de Mar, Salou, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, and Torremolinos. In this meeting the municipalities maintain their work and commitment to the development of policies linked to allowing progress in the digitization of destinations, improving municipal financing, and the environmental sustainability of destinations.

The work agenda for this Tuesday has closed at the headquarters of the Secretary of State for Tourism, where the Re Think Hotel Contest prizes have been awarded, which is organized annually by Grupo Habitat Futura to recognize the best sustainability and hotel rehabilitation projects executed in Spain. A contest that in this edition has rewarded an establishment in Benidorm, the Hotel Presidente, of the Hoteles Benidorm chain, for the renovation of its facilities, with which it has delved into energy efficiency and provided promotion and positioning value. Sergio de la Serna, director of the Hotel Presidente, has been in charge of collecting the award.
