Housewives place a wreath of flowers in front of the statue of Peace on Mediterranean Avenue
Benidorm demonstrates for the end of violence against women
A hundred or so people gathered this morning at the square of SS MM los Reyes de España to participate in the 'March against Gender Violence' which, like every year, has been organized by the Housewives of Benidorm collective that Vini Pérez presides, coinciding with November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Among the attendees, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí; the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate; and other members of the municipal corporation. After 11:00 in the morning, a manifesto was read that called for "the cessation of violence against women", and then the group, which included participants during the tour, headed towards the Statue of Peace on Avenida del Mediterráneo to lay a wreath of flowers in memory of the women who have lost their lives due to sexist violence this year in our country.
The commemorative events of 25N will continue tomorrow with the 'Escape room' 'Four Anti-Violence Steps (FAVS)', with showings from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, at the Cultural Center. To participate, prior registration on the website www.taquilla.portgenius.es is mandatory.
