Benidorm is already experiencing the third day of its Festes Majors Patronals, a day entirely dedicated to its patron saint, Sant Jaume. A holiday that has not detracted from the affluence or showiness of the events that are held, following at all times the security protocol dictated by the health authorities.

Yesterday's day ended with the singing of the 'Copletes' to the Mare de Déu' at Plaza de Sant Jaume from 11:00 p.m. and the party that followed at Plaza de Sus Majestades Los Reyes de España with Maxim Orquesta Show.

Today, the day of Sant Jaume began with a popular hot chocolate at nine in the morning in the Comissió marquee. Later, at 10:30 am, the foremen and music bands collected the Queens and their Courts of Honor to go in parades to the Comissió tent. From there, with the authorities, they moved in parades to the parish church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna where at 11:30 a mass was celebrated in honor of Santiago Apóstol, patron saint of Benidorm, which has been officiated by the His Excellency and Reverend José Ignacio Munilla Aguirre, Bishop of the Diocese of Orihuela-Alicante.

The queens Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt, their ladies, the mayor Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carroble; members of the municipal corporation; the president of the Commission, José Vicente Fuster; that of the Penyes Association, Adrián Romero; the national deputy Agustín Almodóbar; the regional deputy Manuel Pérez Fenoll and the provincial deputy José Ramón González de Zárate. The mass has been sung by the parish choir and by the director, Juan Antonio Espinosa.

At the end of it, there has been an aerial bombardment and a parade through the streets of the city. Meanwhile, during the morning the little ones enjoyed a large playground in the Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España.
Later, at 2:00 p.m., on Jaime I avenue, the queens pressed the start button for the second of the 'mascletaes' of these FMP2022, by the Ricasa pyrotechnics. A powerful pyrotechnic show that has consumed 127 kilos of gunpowder in approximately six minutes in which red smoke has been the protagonist, the color of Sant Jaume, patron saint of Benidorm.

The acts in honor of the patron saint of Benidorm will continue this afternoon at 7:30 p.m. with the traditional procession and the subsequent lighting of the 'Estampeta' in honor of Sant Jaume in the square that bears his name. The procession will run through Calle Mayor, Alameda, Paseo de la Carretera, Santa Faz, Mal Pas, and Plaza de San Jaime. Inside the temple, the parish priest D. Juan Antonio González will read the names of the new organizer members of the Festes Majors Patronals of 2023.

At night it will be the turn of live music in the Huerto de Colón and also at 11 pm at Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España, there will be a 'Tribute to the Route of the 90' ​​by the DJs Víctor Pérez and Vicente Ferrer.
