Lourdes Caselles regrets that the rule has not been agreed with the city councils despite the attribution of the competence to authorize holiday flats
Benidorm debates the new Valencian Law on Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality
The auditorium of Benidorm City Council hosted on Thursday a conference-colloquium on the new law on Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality, recently approved by the Consell, a standard responsible for regulating the tourism sector in the Valencian Community for the coming decades.
The conference was moderated by Marta Villén and the Urbanism Councilor of Benidorm, Lourdes Caselles, participating as speakers; Nuria Montes de Diego, general secretary of Hosbec; Isabel Palafox, deputy general director of Tourism of the Valencian Community and Sebastián Fernández, former general director of Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana. During the conference the speakers explained the details about the implementation of the new regulation, the regulation of holiday homes as well as their social and economic impact.
Lourdes Caselles raised the need for the regional administration to develop and clarify the new Tourism Law, the text of which was approved last summer, regretting that it had not been consulted or agreed with the local administration, and this despite the fact that the standard discharges the city councils have the responsibility of authorizing or not the activity of the holiday flats.
The day was organized by Alicante Institute of Culture 'Juan Gil-Albert' and the Provincial Council of Alicante, in collaboration with the City Council of Benidorm.
