Benidorm continues betting on consolidating itself as a "bikefriendly" destination
VisitBenidorm Foundation has participated this weekend and for the second consecutive year in the cycling fair "Vellofollies" which has been held in the Belgian town of Kortrij.
'Velofollies' fair is considered one of the most important competitions of Benelux which each year exceeds 35,000 visitors and 300 exhibitors.
Velofollies represents for Benidorm one of the greatest opportunities for cycling tourism not only in the Belgian market, but also in the French and Dutch markets.
The commitment to sports tourism by Benidorm is evident with the return this year of the third edition of Costablanca Bike Race, which as a novelty will have two stages in Benidorm.
That is why one of the objectives with which Visit Benidorm has gone to this fair has been to link Benidorm with this event, one of the most important bbt and mbb cycling events in Spain, and at the same time to initiate meetings for future Famtrips with specialized TTOOs as well as Presstrips with specialized press.
VisitBenidorm has also offered its visitors a new official channel in wikiloc and strava whereby the flamenco public who are very fond of cycling on the road will be able to discover the impressive routes that combine sea and mountain, that begin, finish or cross Benidorm as was the Etapa Reina of the Vuelta 2016.
Without a doubt, the climate, sunshine, mild temperatures, contrasting orography, mountain passes so close to the coast, are making Benidorm one of the favorite destinations for cycling in all its forms and in all the levels.
