The road will be closed to traffic tomorrow and Wednesday, although there will be an operational exit and entry itinerary for residents
Benidorm completes this week the urbanization of Ondulada street with asphalting and signage
Benidorm City Council will definitively finalize this week the complete renovation of the infrastructures of Calle Ondulada with the work of milling, asphalting, painting and placing vertical signage. The works on this street have been carried out in recent months, although in recent days it had already been provisionally opened to traffic.
José Ramón González de Zárate, Councilor for Mobility, has appealed to pedestrians and drivers who circulate in that area so that they "be careful and know that these works are to finish the work this week."
The intervention began in February and has involved the renovation of drinking water and sewage infrastructure, as well as new asphalt, widening of sidewalks with non-slip paving and installation of medium-voltage power lines with underground piping.
The mayor stressed that this work is "very important because it will greatly improve accessibility and all services" and recalled that before executing it "there were many problems with the existing paving because people slipped on rainy days because of the slope of the road and that is why we wanted to change it”.
Thus, from tomorrow, Tuesday, and during the day on Wednesday, Calle Ondulada will be closed to traffic. In addition, between 06:00 and 07:00 a.m. on both days, traffic will also be cut off on Aigüera Avenue from Hondo Street to Ondulada Street, to proceed with the asphalting of the intersection of the avenue with the latter street. The mayor explained that "to generate the least possible inconvenience, the asphalting of this intersection will be carried out first thing in the morning, restoring traffic on the affected section of Aigüera Avenue at 7:00 a.m. and leaving only restricted traffic on Calle Ondulada itself”.
About the access and exit of the residents of San Marcos and Santa Cristina streets, they will be changed depending on the progress of the work, always having an operational entry and exit itinerary.
