The first phase of installing smart screens at the main bus stops in Benidorm has been completed with the placement of eleven of these elements in shelters distributed in different parts of the city. The Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that these screens "improve the service provided to urban bus users since they inform the passenger in real time of the exact time of arrival at the vehicle stop of the different lines.

De Zárate has detailed that "it is a very precise system, thanks to the GPS devices installed in the vehicles themselves that allow the arrival times to be updated." Specifically, the software used has a time prediction system that feeds back from the GPS positions of the buses and adjusts the data for each journey. In this way, the information is continuously updated so that it is as accurate as possible.

When it comes to locating these smart screens, he specified, "the stops that have the greatest influx of users or that are the head of the line have been chosen." However, "it is a first phase of implementation since the intention is to progressively extend this system to the rest of the stops, thus advancing in the use of new technologies to improve the service and favor its use."

The eleven screens are located at the stops on Langreo street next to Bali hotel-, number 13 Avenida Beniardá, at numbers 4 and 55 Avenida del Mediterráneo; number 9 Severo Ochoa, at number 4 Esperanto street, at Francisco Llorca Antón bus station, at Parque de Elche, at Estación street, at Doctor Fleming square and Salt de l'Aigua.

Added to these eleven smart screens is the recent implementation of a digital pole with similar characteristics in front of the Central Library.

The Councilor for Mobility recalled that "at those stops that do not have smart screens or a digital information post, passengers can also obtain this information by scanning the QR codes installed at each stop by the urban transport company, Grupo Avanza".
