While the cut lasts, the circulation of Esperanto street is reversed and the bus stop is moved
Benidorm closes two days to traffic the section of Mediterráneo avenue where works are being developed to pave the avenue, which will be a road without sidewalks
The section in works of Mediterráneo Avenue is closed to traffic from Monday, June 29, and for two days to proceed to the asphalting of the road, which will remain as a “road without sidewalks' between Europa Avenue and La Hispanidad square”, has indicated the councilor for Works and Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate. During the days of the cut "we are going to reorder the surrounding traffic to affect mobility as little as possible and to maintain the connection between the downtown area and the old town."
Thus, during the days of Monday and Tuesday the direction of the circulation of Esperanto street is reversed. In this way, the itineraries will be as follows:
- Access to the old town: through Dr. Orts Llorca, Esperanto and Plaza Hispanidad to continue through Dr. Pérez Llorca.
- Access to the downtown area: from Dr. Orts Llorca through Esperanto until reaching Finestrat street.
- Access to fords of Avenida del Mediterráneo: it will be marked by the development of the works, but it will be accessible by Dr. Orts Llorca, Esperanto, Plaza Hispanidad and from this point, Mediterráneo
While the cut lasts, the bus stop of the section under construction also moves to the point of Avenida Mediterráneo located in front of Las Terrazas car park. The coaches that go down Avenida de Europa will stop next to Belroy hotel, where there is a stop.
De Zárate has pointed out that "the bulk of the asphalt work is to be carried out between 05.00 on Monday and 21.00 on Tuesday, with the avenue reopening to traffic from that time and leaving Wednesday for possible finishing" . "As always, when we carry out actions of this type that affect traffic, we apologize to drivers, residents and merchants for any inconvenience they may cause," he added.
He also pointed out that "at the moment the furniture and trees on the north side of Avenida del Mediterráneo are being installed."
