Benidorm children have fun at Children's Carnival parade

Carnival parties have started today in Benidorm with the first of the parades, the Children's Carnival, which has gathered around 700 participants from 35 groups, 15 individual participations, more than a hundred out of competition and thousands of people throughout of the route.

At 10.00 in the morning, the little ones and the adults who have accompanied them, also in disguise, have begun to gather in Escuelas street, then parade through Ruzafa, Herrerías, Dr. Fleming's square and end SS MM los Reyes de España square. There they have been received by the mayor, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, other members of the corporation, the presidents of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals and the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' , Batiste Rostoll and Adrián Romero; The queens of the festivities, Paula Pérez and Sofía Fuster with their ladies; and the jury of the Children's Carnival.

After the parade, the time has come for the end of the party and the awards ceremony. In the children's category has won the first and 100 euros ‘Perla guacamaya’. The second and 75 euros, has been for ‘Pinocchio and Geppeto’. The third and 50 euros, for ‘Caramelo’. In the group category, ‘Dumbo y su circo’ have been the first with a prize of 300 euros. ‘Rockeros 70 80’, seconds with 200. Finally, ‘The formula 1’ third posotion, with 100 euros.

Tonight will come the time of the Adult Carnival that will depart at 9:00 p.m. and will go through Venus, Ruzafa, Herrerías, Dr. Fleming square to also end at SS MM los Reyes de España square.
