Benidorm celebrates the 60th anniversary of its PGOU with Oscar Tusquets' exhibition and a debate on its urban model
Benidorm will become the next 9 of June in a space for the reflection and the debate on the urbanism and the vertical model of the city. On the occasion of the exhibition "Gran Benidorm" by the artist Óscar Tusquets and coinciding with the 60th anniversary of its General Plan, a historic milestone in the development of urbanism in Spain, the hall of the Town Hall will host two talks moderated by the Catalan author in Benidorm.
The first one, starting at 11.00 hours, is entitled 'Virtudes de un urbanismo' and will be run by the architects of Juli Capella, Jordi Garcés and José Luis Camarasa. In the second of the talks, at 12.30 pm, designer Javier Mariscal and journalists Joaquín Luna and Juan Ramón Gil will approach 'La vida de esta ciudad', followed by a debate open to attendees.
The next day, the protagonist will be the plastic art with the opening at noon of the exhibition 'Great Benidorm', a sample of paintings and collages of Oscar Tusquets, which are a tribute to the vertical city and the lifestyle that provides the Urban plot of Benidorm.
The exhibition was exhibited for the first time in Barcelona, on October 20 and later, from March 29 to April 2, traveled to the United Kingdom to be shown to the London public simultaneously in the London Art Biennale and in the Room One. In Benidorm you can see it now in Boca del Calvari Museum, located in Tomás Ortuño Street, until 13 August.
