Next Monday, the 4th, the pool will open after the cleaning tasks
Benidorm carries out improvement actions at Palau d'Esport for the start of the new sports season
The Sports Department of Benidorm City Council is carrying out improvement tasks at Palau d'Esports l'Illa for the start of the new sports season, as reported today by the councillor of the department, Javier Jordá, who has announced that the pools of the complex will be fully operational next Monday, September 4, "once the cleaning and disinfection of both vessels are completed."
Jordá explained that "we have made these actions coincide with the time when the activity at the Palau d'Esports is lowest since the summer courses have ended and the club season and ordinary sports courses have not yet begun." "Working precisely at this moment - he specified - we try to generate the minimum inconvenience to the regular users and the teams of our city that use these facilities and that in some cases have started their training but not the competition."
As detailed by the councillor, in addition to emptying and cleaning the swimming pools – whose water has been used to wash streets – the windows and changing rooms have been cleaned and moored. In addition, the taps and showers that have some type of damage are being replaced, and their operation and that of the toilets are being reviewed. The electrical installation and plugs in the changing rooms are also being checked, the locks on the access doors are being adjusted and the vinyl floor is being repaired.
Jordá added that the machinery in the boiler room, the delivery pumps, the chlorinators, and the compensation tanks, among others, have been reviewed and tuned. Likewise, weeds are being cleared and cleaned inside the sports complex and on the perimeter of the facilities.
The councilor stressed that "all these actions will be completed at the end of this week so that Benidorm athletes will have all the Palau d'Esports facilities at their disposal starting Monday and in the best possible conditions."
