Benidorm begins three works of accessibility and urban scene in the neighborhood of La Cala

The City Council is acting in the streets Asturias, Juan Antonio Baldoví, Santander and the crossing between Dénia and Calpe
Benidorm City Council has started three works of accessibility and improvement in the neighborhood of La Cala, which is added to the asphalting of Villajoyosa Avenue that began last week. José Ramón González de Zárate, the councilman of Works, has reported that these works are being developed in "the most deteriorated areas", such as Asturias, Juan Baldoví, Santander and in a small crossing between Dénia and Calpe streets. These actions will give "a significant leap in accessibility, mobility and urban scene in the neighborhood." The first performance focuses on the sidewalks of Asturias street. De Zárate explained that in this way "there are parts without sidewalks, while in other parts are very small for wheelchairs and buggies." The works are running in a stretch of 150 linear meters and will result in sidewalks of 1.80 meters wide. The councillor indicated that it is also being acted in Juan Antonio Baldoví, with the creation of zebra crossing," as well as "the repair of all tiles." De Zárate highlighted the importance of this work of accessibility since in this street it is located the social center Pepita Esperanza Puchades and various social associations. On the other hand, it is going to be proceed to the asphalting of the small crossing that is located between the streets Dénia and Calpe, where last year pavements were made. Santander Street will be paved next week. De Zárate recalled that these municipal works have been made coinciding with those being carried out by Gas Natural and Iberdrola in the neighborhood for the gas pipeline and for the installation of new medium voltage lines to avoid the power outages that occurred in La Cala. In this way "there is more coordination" and the ditches and 'patches' can be arranged later with asphalting in the indicated streets.
