With this action, which starts at the intersection with Honduras street, pedestrian safety and comfort are gained on a road that gives access to two health centers and one educational center
Benidorm begins on Monday the works to improve the sidewalks and accessibility of Avenida Venezuela
Benidorm City Council begins this Monday, January 30, the works to improve the sidewalks and accessibility of Venezuela Avenue, from the junction with Honduras street, as reported by the councillor of the area, José Ramón González de Zárate, who explained that with this action "there is gain in pedestrian safety and comfort on a road that gives access to two health centers, the Foietes health center and the specialty center, and Ausiàs March school."
Precisely the presence of "these three public buildings means that Avenida Venezuela has a lot of pedestrian traffic, which with this action will benefit from the increase in the size of the sidewalks and the implementation of accessibility improvements." In addition, the asphalting of the area and the renewal of the lighting are also planned, which will become 'led' technology, thus improving lighting conditions and energy efficiency. This renovation of the lighting is contemplated in the new phase of the energy improvement project financed by the IDAE -Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy-.
De Zárate explained that this work will start in the vicinity of Honduras street and will reach the two health centers; and he has clarified that "while the work lasts, the transit of people will be guaranteed."
The councillor apologized to residents, users of health centers, and the school community for the inconvenience that these works may generate, which, on the other hand, "are necessary" to complete the improvement of Avenida Venezuela, where last year in the Participatory Budget, a roundabout was built to make traffic more agile, also improving the sidewalks in the lower part of this road.
