Benidorm aprueba las bases del Programa de Apoyo Educativo de Verano, que volverá a realizarse en el CEIP Leonor Canalejas

The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council will approve next Monday the rules of the Summer Educational Support Program (PAEV) 2024, which will be carried out again at the Leonor Canalejas school and is aimed at 90 primary education students who have not obtained good academic results or present deficiencies in basic educational skills.

The objective of this program is to intensify the education of students, mainly those who are in disadvantaged situations. To this end, the City Council provides social support to these minors and their families with the extension of the course to the summer period and greater individual attention to correct learning deficiencies in time and thus continue their educational itinerary with expectations of promotion.

Classes will be taught from July 3 to August 27 and, as usual, there will be two shifts. The first will go from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for 2nd, 4th and 6th-grade students and the second, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for 1st, 3rd and 5th-grade students.

The deadline for submitting applications for this educational support program begins on June 3 and ends on the 26th of that month. If the interested party wants to receive municipal aid, the deadline to request it will be from June 3 to 14. On June 19, the list of beneficiaries will be published. On the 21st, the period to reserve a place for non-beneficiaries will end and, finally, on June 28, the list of students will be published.

The Local Government Board will also approve the public prices of the PAEV next Monday, which will be the following:
-General: 74.67 euros/student.
-Large family, general single parent or foster family or people with functional diversity due to a disability of less than 33%: 37.34 euros/student.
-Large or single-parent family of a special nature, or people with functional diversity due to a disability equal to or greater than 33%: 0.00 euros/student.
-Youth or retired/pensioner Card: 67.20 euros/student.
-Family with more than one participating member: 59.73 euros/student.
-Regulated economic income or similar situation: 0.00 euros/student.

The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, has highlighted that this program aims to “not only improve academic results but also facilitate the acquisition of habits of organization and perseverance at work, reinforce mastery of basic instrumental techniques and increase academic expectations. of the students".
The PAEV, the councillor continued, "offers linguistic help to students who, due to their origin, have difficulties integrating into the school environment and facilitates access to educational support and reinforcement for schoolchildren from families with low economic levels."

Likewise, the PAEV will also influence how students work on their study capacity and, as Moreno has pointed out, “in the planning and organization of school activities and in helping to study techniques to achieve a true habit of work and achieve definitive learning.”
