Social Welfare reserves 10,000 euros for these grants, which will be a maximum of 3,000 euros per association

Benidorm announces grants for entities that work in the field of international cooperation

17 August 2020
Benidorm convoca las ayudas para entidades que trabajan en el ámbito de la cooperación internacional

The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved todya the bases of aid for non-profit entities in Benidorm that carry out their activity in the field of international cooperation in developing countries. Aid that will be announced in the coming days and for which 10,000 euros have been reserved, as reported today by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca.

Llorca has indicated that, as stated in the rules, "the associations may receive a maximum amount of 3,000 euros for solidarity and active cooperation actions with developing countries that they have carried out in the period between 1 September 2019 and the same day of 2020 ”. With this amount “we want to contribute to financing, for example, surgical, construction material and machinery that entities can send to these countries, or part of the native labor that they have used to execute projected infrastructures to improve the quality of life and opportunities of the developing areas in which they work ”. Also, she added, "this aid can be used to pay for the displacement of minors from impoverished countries in conflict for temporary stays in Benidorm."

Regarding the requirements, the applicant entities will have to be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Register of Associations of Benidorm City Council, and have a stable and active registered office or delegation in the city.

The councillor of Social Welfare explained that "the aid may be requested electronically once the bases approved today are published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP)." Both the bases, the requirements and the documentation to be provided may be consulted on the Notice Board of the municipal electronic office and on the website www.benidorm.org. Likewise, the processing of this subsidy must be carried out through the municipal Electronic Office (https://sede.benidorm.org).

In previous calls, local entities that carry out actions in Togo, India and the Sahara benefited from these grants.

Llorca recalled that this line of grants "are in addition to those called for entities that work in the field of social health, equality and functional diversity, and to which 90,000 euros are allocated."
