After the experience at Plaza de la Constitución, this system is now extended to this emblematic point of El Calvari square, where the containers will be placed from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Benidorm also tests in l’Hort de Colón removable containers
De Zárate emphasizes that this system improves the image of the area and guarantees that the schedules for taking out the garbage are met.
The Department of Street Cleaning has also decided to implement in the square next to l’Hort de Colón removable containers. As the councillio of the department, José Ramón González de Zárate, has recalled, this system limits the presence of containers on public roads to certain hours and "for two weeks it has been operating at La Constitución square."
De Zárate explained that "in view of the good results of this experience at La Constitución square, from where we receive congratulations from neighbors and businessmen, we have decided to take this system to another area that presented the same problem": the presence of garbage throughout the day by not respecting the schedules marked in the Environment ordinance.
Thus, starting today a truck will install the organic waste collection containers around 8:00 p.m. and will remove them before 8:00 a.m. the next day.
The councillor has remarked that "with this formula we will improve the image of this central and busy area of the El Calvari neighborhood and we guarantee compliance with the schedules to remove the waste established by the ordinance."
De Zárate has pointed out that with these experiences at La Constitución square and Hort de Colon “we not only test this formula of 'removable containers, but we also familiarize citizens and establishments with this system that with the new contract of cleaning and urban waste collection will reach, among other points, the busiest squares in the city, the Old Town and El Calvari neighborhood ”. A contract, he has reminded that will start working next year.
