Eleven member companies have received the emblem for the first time this year
Benidorm already has 86 tourist companies and services recognized with the SICTED emblem
A total of 86 tourism companies and services have the SICTED emblem in Benidorm after the celebration of the quality table that took place on May 28, in which all of them successfully passed the Committee. 11 member companies presented themselves to this table to receive the emblem for the first time, another 73 renewed it and two more are in a situation of extension.
The Comprehensive System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations (SICTED) is a program developed by the Secretary of State for Tourism with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) whose purpose is the comprehensive and permanent management of quality in a tourist destination, to achieve a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered to tourists within that destination, encompassing both the tourist services themselves and those others that, without being strictly so, affect the tourist's consumption itinerary.
SICTED works with tourist services from up to 37 different professions with the ultimate objective of improving the tourist experience and satisfaction. Of these trades, 18 have been represented in Benidorm, led by several companies by hotels and tourist apartments. This year, a new job has been incorporated, 'Permanent scenic spaces' and a new municipal service has been added; the archaeological site of Tossal de La Cala.
The companies that are opting for this distinction for the first time are Benidorm Palace, El Bodegón Aurrerá, Hotel Gold Arcos, La Brasería Aurrerá, La Tapería Aurrerá, Mara Boutique Apartments, Mountain Fitness, Pintxos Aurrerá, Port Benidorm Hotel & Spa, RA Benidorm and the aforementioned archaeological site Castellum Tossal de La Cala.
The "Tourism Quality Commitment" Distinction accredits compliance with the requirements established in the methodology and recognizes the effort and commitment to quality and continuous improvement of the participating companies while distinguishing the company from the competition.
Benidorm joined the SICTED project in mid-2013, through the framework agreement signed between the Visit Benidorm Foundation and the Secretary of State for Tourism regarding quality. This national project has been very well received in Benidorm, reinforcing the city's positioning as a quality tourist destination.
Among the benefits that companies obtain, it is worth highlighting the improvement of internal management, especially that of processes related to customer satisfaction; increase in the qualification of the team, through a training plan; participate in the largest tourism quality project developed in Spain, together with more than 9,000 establishments; receive technical assistance that offers support for improvement; and opt for a badge that accredits the level of quality obtained.
