The new exit road will be executed in the educational complex that will clear traffic in the area

Benidorm allocates one million euros to an Asphalt Plan in Salt de l’Aigua school complex and in Comunidad Valenciana Avenue

Benidorm destina un millón de euros a un Plan de Asfalto en el complejo escolar Salt de l’Aigua y en Comunidad Valenciana

The parking of Xixo and Séquia Mare Park will also be adapted

Benidorm City Council will allocate about one million euros to an Asphalt Plan that will focus mainly on the Salt de l’Aigua school complex and on the final stretch of Comunidad Valenciana Avenue. The Councilor for Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, has informed that this contract is already in the public exposure phase, so in mid-December “the four planned actions” could begin to be executed.

As indicated by the mayor, the most important action will be carried out in Salt de l'Aigua school complex, which is attended by nearly 5,000 students from two public schools, four Secondary Schools, the Official Language School and the UNED. Specifically, "all existing asphalting is going to be fixed and a new road will be created, which will connect Barca del Bou street - which is prolonged thanks to the recent construction of a bridge - with access to the complex." In this way, the two lanes of the Nau Llondro street will serve as entrance to the school grounds, while the exit will be made through the new road, doubling the capacity.

De Zárate explained that with this action “we significantly improve the safety of vehicles and pedestrians, while avoiding collapses at the entrance and exit of the school complex”, since in addition to improving the asphalt and creating a new road, the painted new zebra crossings and the installation of cameras and lighting.

The councilor has clarified that "the bulk of this action will be carried out taking advantage of the Christmas school holidays so as not to interfere with the normal functioning of the educational complex and to avoid the presence of students during the works."

In addition, under the Plan, the Valencian Community avenue that runs between the intersection of Severo Ochoa - where a roundabout will be executed soon - and El Trinquet 'Vicent Pérez Devesa', will be carried out. Asphalt in the deteriorated areas the road surface will be increased to implant a new section of bicycle lane, "thus completing the Eixample." De Zárate has clarified that “the physiognomy that the rest of the Valencian Community avenue already has will be maintained”.

The third action of the Plan consists of asphalting and lighting installation in the parking lot of the upper part of Xixo Avenue, with capacity for "about 150 vehicles" and "currently is dirt." The mayor has stressed that “until the new parking-viewpoint provided for in the Partial Plan 2/1 Poniente is finished, this parking lot on Avenida Xixo will give a break to the parking problems of La Cala, especially during Holy Week.

The same line will continue with the car park located next to Séquia Mare Park, the fourth action of the Plan.
