For three weeks clearing and cleaning tasks have been carried out in the Plà de l’Assagador and Plà del Cuartel areas
Benidorm adapts the environment of rural roads and cattle trails
Benidorm City Council has adapted the environment of rural roads and cattle trails located in Plà de l'Assagador and Plà del Cuartel areas, through " work consisting of pruning and clearing of about 15,000 square meters of tree surface", according to the Councilor for Public Space and Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained today.
The councillor has indicated that "the areas adjacent to rural roads and cattle trails in both parts are affected by uncontrolled dumping of pruning remains and in some points are invaded by scrub and the lower branches of trees, which makes it difficult to pass of emergency vehicles, cleaning and maintenance, while increasing the risk of fires ".
During the three weeks that the works have lasted, they have performed, among others, in the surroundings of Camí del Plà and Els Torrers and in Cuartel and Ricardo tracks. At these points, possible residues have also been removed.
De Zárate has pointed out that “given the nature and location of the trees to be pruned in both areas, the service of specialized operators and specific machinery has been required” and hence “an external company has been used that, in addition to executing these works has been in charge of transporting all the pruning remains to the municipal eco-park ”.
In this regard, he recalled that "the municipal eco-park, located on the road that connects with Finestrat, is open to all citizens for the deposit of pruning remains and innumerable waste such as metal, wood, appliances, furniture, rubble or inert products up to 50 kilos, crankcase oil, car batteries, sprays, X-rays or fluorescent tubes, among others ”.
The adaptation of the indicated areas has involved an investment of 17,725.34 euros, and is added to the cleaning and clearing of about 12,000 square meters that has also been carried out by the Town Hall in Serra Gelada.
