The Espai d'Art of Benidorm City Council has hosted an exhibition of posters against sexist violence that have been made by the second-year Artistic Baccalaureate students of Pere Maria Orts i Bosch Highschool, within the events of the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated on November 25. The councilors of Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, and of Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, together with the center's management team, have been in charge of inaugurating the seventh edition of this 'Exhibition of Posters against Gender Violence' with the collaboration of the City Council, Alicante Provincial Council and the Arts department of this IES.

The exhibition is made up of a total of fifteen posters, prepared by the students in advertising format and whose objective is to denounce the different forms of violence that many women usually suffer: from physical aggression to other types of violence such as trafficking, control, judgments about their clothing or their makeup, inequalities in different professional fields, or the misunderstanding that biological issues as natural like menstruation still generate, as explained by Pau Rodrigo, the professor in charge of coordinating the project.

The Councilor for Equality thanked the “interest that the students show every year in participating in this project”, highlighting that “every year it acquires a higher level and arouses more interest and visibility”. At this point, Zaragozí has highlighted that, in addition to the City Hall lobby, the posters will be shown next Friday, November 24, in numerous 'mupis' distributed throughout the city, where they will be until December 4. "Furthermore, the posters from previous years travel to other secondary schools, both in our town and in other towns in the region, which reflects the quality of the works and their ability to convey this message against sexist violence to hundreds of young people,” the councilor added.

Ángela Zaragozí has invited citizens to visit the posters of this exhibition and recalled that its objective is to “raise awareness on an issue as important and as painful as violence against women.”

Among the events that have been organized this week on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, this Tuesday, November 21, a workshop on gender violence will be held at Jelena Social Center aimed at people SASEM users from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., a children's entertainment show is scheduled with the title 'Enough! Stop gender violence' that will take place at the Central Library.
