Applicants to the 10 places of interim agents of the Local Police perform the physical tests

31 March 2017
Los aspirantes a las 10 plazas de agente interino de la Policía Local realizan las pruebas físicas

The 102 candidates who passed the psychotechnic test must pass six tests before facing the exam and the personal interview

The candidates for the 10 places of temporary agents of the Local Police summoned by Benidorm City Council to reinforce the section of Beaches during the high season are preforming this morning the physical tests, second of the tests of the selective process. The councilors of Citizen Security and Human Resources, Lorenzo Martínez and Jesús Carrobles, explained that "from more than 140 candidates who had submitted to the call have reached this stage of the process, after passing the psychotechnic test, a total of 102 candidates ".

Physical tests have begun at 09.00 hours at Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor. There, the tests of length jump, high jump, speed and resistance have been developed. Then the candidates have moved to Palau d'Esports to perform the swimming test and the rope climbing.

The councilor for Citizen Security has indicated that "candidates who pass physical tests will face next week to the last two phases of the selection process: the exam type test and the personal interview, which will also assess the merits of each applicant ". Between the two tests, a minimum of 48 hours must elapse.

Martínez said that "the numbers and dates we are shuffling is that we can have the final selection of agents on April 5, day in which we will make the request for reports so that we can incorporate them into the service no later than 9 or 10 days" . These temporary agents will serve, therefore, from Easter until after the summer.

The councilman has stressed that with the incorporation of these ten interim agents, "the government of Benidorm once again fulfills its commitment to improve security at the times of the year with more influx of tourists."

Martínez recalled that within this commitment to increase the staff of the Local Police "we are working to make new service commissions to increase the workforce in nine more agents." With these service commissions - agents from other localities - plus the ten interim agents, the police reinforcement would be 19 troops for this summer or until the final places approved by the plenary session are added.

It is expected that the selection process to the coverage of those 20  places approved by the corporation will start as soon as possible.
