150 students have competed in swimming, boccia, bowling, mini-basketball and multi-sensorial competitions
On Wednesday, January 25th, the Fourth Competition of Adapted Sport and Multisensorial Activity of the province of Alicante, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Education and Culture, took place at Palau d'Esports l'Illa in Benidorm with the collaboration of the councils of Sports and Social Welfare of Benidorm City Council. About 150 students participated in the tests.
The students played in adapted swimming, bocce, bowling and minibasquet modalities. The students with a greater degree of disability carried out multisensory activities with the realization of the sensory stimulation workshop 'El mar' by the CPEE (Special Public School of Education) Secanet in Vila Joiosa and the performance of the tale 'Journey around the world' represented by the CPEE Santo Ángel de la Guarda, from Alicante.
In the closing act participated the councilors of Sports, Ana Pellicer and Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca; the councilwoman of the oposotion, Inés Reyes; and the head of the Sports Section of Alicante, David Torró. Benidorm City Council made available to the organization the municipal facilities, technical and sports personnel and run with the expenses of supplies. In addition, 60 students participated as volunteers of TAFAD Training Cycle (Higher Technician in Animation of Physical and Sports Activities) of IES Lope de Vega in Benidorm and IES Monastil in Elda; 25 of the penitentiary centers of Villena and Fontcalent; and 6 from other institutions.
After the program of sports activities, participants had a cultural visit to the historic center of Benidorm and especially to Hort de Colón guided by technical staff of the department of Historic Heritage.
