The City Council encourages residents to collaborate in the realization of a project that will change the entire neighborhood

Benidorm City Council has already prepared the report and the accessibility study for the comprehensive reform of Alfredo Corral neighborhood. The renewal will be total. This has been announced today by the councilors of Works and Citizen Participation, José Ramón González de Zárate and Ana Pellicer, after the meetings they have held with the neighborhood associations of Plaza de España and Infante-l'Aigüera, within the campaign 'At the foot of the street', promoted by the Neighborhood Council.

González de Zárate has referred to the accessibility problem of Alfredo Corral, which affects the neighbors, many of them "old people." The councilor has alluded to "the large number of architectural barriers", such as stairs, that must be overcome to carry out any activity and has advocated for completely redesigning the neighborhood "through lifts and ramps" using funds from the Edusi (Sustainable and Comprehensive Urban Development Strategy) that the European Union (EU) has assigned to Benidorm.

The person in charge of Works has also pointed out that, thanks to EU funds, "the entire neighborhood, from Marqués de Comillas to the crossroads with Maravall street confluence, and from the bottom with Jaime I, the entire neighborhood" will be "renovated". González de Zárate has clarified that new drinking water, sewerage, lighting and services networks (natural gas, telecommunications ...,) will be installed. In addition, all the lighting will go "to an energy saving system". "We are confirming - he said - that the Edusi funds are already reaching Alfredo Corral, and hand in hand with something as important as accessibility and energy savings."

For her part, Ana Pellicer has reiterated that the campaign 'A pie de calle', which every week brings together members of the neighborhood associations with their representatives in the municipal corporation, intends that citizens "send us their contributions, their ideas so that between all of us we can make a better project, a city project "so that it is not only the administration that intervenes," but that we do it together.

Finally, the Councilor for Citizen Participation has announced the call, next Thursday, October 15, of a new meeting with residents of the upper area of Tomás Ortuño and the confluence of El Cruce with La Aigüera to discuss the issues that concern them. affect and to discuss new proposals for the future of Benidorm.
