More than 350 swimmers participate this Sunday, August 26, at the XVII Popular Travesía a nado l'Illa-Port de Benidorm, a test organized by the Benidorm City Council in collaboration with the Yacht Club. The Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, explained that "it is a test open to everyone, with the only requirement of having reached 18 years, in which participants must cover by swimming the distance that separates the islet from the Mal Pas beach, two nautical miles, the equivalent of 3,704 meters. "

The test will start at 08.15 on the island and swimmers must complete the test in a maximum time of two hours.

As for the awards, they will be awarded in eleven categories: Absolute, Senior A - between 18 and 29 years old, Senior B - between 30 and 39 years old, Veterans A - between 40 and 44 years old, Veterans B - between 45 and 49 years old, Veterans C - between 50 and 54 years old, Veterans D - between 55 and 59 years old, - From 60 years old, People with functional diversity, Local Swimmers and Club with greater participation.

The collection of numbers will be between 07.00 and 07.30 hours in the facilities of the Yacht Club, and during the test "all swimmers must make use of the buoy of location".

The Councilor for Sports has encouraged the public to "approach the port and even the Castle to continue the journey, which will be a sight worth seeing."
