A new classroom for 4-year-old children in Infant Education has been incorporated in Vasco Núñez de Balboa

5,280 Infant and Primary students begin the school year in Benidorm

09 September 2019
5.280 alumnos de Infantil y Primaria inician el curso escolar en Benidorm

"Total and absolute normality". This is how the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, defined the start of the 2019/2020 school year in the compulsory education centers of Benidorm.

Aspects that concerned the Department of Education as school transport "have not had any impact," said Moreno. The works in some sections of the route, such as Juan Fuster Zaragoza or Ametlla de Mar, have not been a problem ”.

Throughout the morning, municipal technicians have maintained contact with the centers. The person in charge of the area has moved to the CEIP Vasco Núñez de Balboa with the mayor, Toni Pérez, to check the progress in the adaptation works that are carried out there. Both have toured the facilities with the director of the center, José Eduardo Bolívar. This center also presents a novelty in the newly initiated course: a new classroom for children of 4 years old.

There are 5,280 students of Infant and Primary Education who have attended classes in Benidorm today. Regarding Secondary, the councillor has specified that definitive data cannot yet be given "because they have not yet been certified by the centers, which they will do so throughout this week." Maite Moreno has clarified that Benidorm has offered a total of 305 classrooms, “216 of Infant and Primary and 89 of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO)”.
